The Bath Soft Cheese Company

Take a short 2 – 3 minute walk from the pub down a rickety track and you’ll stumble across The Bath Soft Cheese Company; they supply us with an abundance of delicious cheese. Relax in their cosy cafe sipping on a lovely cup of coffee and tuck into a selection of extremely tasty paninis and cakes. On a summers day you can sit outside and soak up the sun and enjoy the country air. Visit Website

A walk up to Kelston Roundhill

Very popular with many walkers, Kelston Roundhill is located behind the pub and takes about 30 minutes to ascend to the top. It offers spectacular views, especially on a clear day you can see across to Wales and the Black Mountains, the Wiltshire Downs to the east and the Mendip hills to the South. We highly recommend taking an early morning or evening walk to catch the sunrise or sunset from the top of the hill.

Bristol & Bath Railway Path

Between 1979 and 1986 the railway track was converted into the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, open for cyclists and walkers to use. The path is commonly used for commuting, as a leisure attraction and for wildlife spotting. Many of the original stations, along the 13 mile path, still remain and are a source of historical interest. One station that doesn’t remain is Kelston station, formerly known as ‘Kelston for Saltford’. It was known by this name because land had to be purchased off landowner, Mr Inigo Jones of Kelston. Mr Jones insisted that the station be positioned where it would benefit Kelston residents. Cyclists/walkers can come off the cycle path, cross a couple of fields and you’re in Kelston – great to pitstop at the the pub for a pint & a bite to eat on a spring/summer’s day. Visit Website
